Is Barclay's Forgiving?

Does Barclay's forgive and forget?  I have a 7 year old unpaid $2k CO that just aged off my TU report. My current TU is 728 (Vantage) and I wont know my Fico8 for 2 more weeks

I really dont want to open another Synchrony account as I want to diversify my portfolio. TU is by far my strongest file atm.

>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Im sure they do forgive and forget but whether 7 years is enough time for them to forget especially if you never repaid them is hard to know.  Even if it's not on your reports they know about it.  Without knowing your Fico TU score its really difficult say as it can be completely different than your Vantage score.  At some point youre just going to have to apply and find out how they respond.  If thye havent forgotten or forgave then its entirely possible that they wont even process the application and give you a HP.  Good luck if you try and let us kknow what happens.

If the charge off were paid, maybe. Unpaid, unlikely.

I had a Juniper Visa almost 10 years ago that was included in my BK13 and to this very day Barclays still hates me for it.  So in my experience, no, they don't forgive and certainly haven't forgotten.

I would try barclay's pre-qual link and see what it comes up with?

yeah they do, that's how I got mine. Just google barclay credit card prequalify and it will be a soft pull, they will tell you right away if you qualify or not.

Best of luck!

They did at one time have one but they no longer have it.  Been that way for quite some time.

Re: Is Barclay's Forgiving?

I had the same problem this week with Bank of America. They won't approve me for anything and it's been 7 years since my CH7 Bankruptcy where a credit card I had with them was discharged. I apped for three cards this week, got approved for the AMEX gold (already have another card with them), Barclays Apple Rewards (never had a barclays card before), and got denied by Bank of America. When I called for recon the rep just said its because you discharged the card you had with us-- no other reason. He was actually really nasty on the phone. Don't know what his deal was.
