Is Recon an option for me?

Applied for the Barclays rewards mastercard was denied. They pulled TransUnion the bureau that can't seem to get my report reporting correctly. My report with Tu is missing a credit card account as well as 3 good tradelines. Haven't had any success calling or disputing as most of their system is automated. My account had been in their special handling dept for months. Cpfb was not much help trying bbb to get things corrected. Scores are 655 Tu
665 Ex 638 Eq Would recon work for me?

Re: Is Recon an option for me?

Your scores are within the limits of the rewards card, it can't hurt to recon w/barcley's..  UW/Analyst number is in the sticky at the top of this sub-forum

Re: Is Recon an option for me?

I tried to do a recon today spoke to two different reps, I wasnt able to get it because my credit card I currently have is almost maxed out..... and I have a few lates on my car loan which they consider, however they did suggest I pay some stuff down and get things corrected and they will reconsider.....

Ah didn't know you were maxed.. Ya that isn't a good time to apply for any credit... Anyways, get your utilization to hopefully under 30% and go for it again if you would like, they might be able to SP you and still give you an approval if you do so within 30 days and it reports lower within that time...Worth a try... Utilization is one of the biggest killers in denying apps.

You should definitely recon. My curent TU score from myFico is around 633 and I got denied twice. One back in October 2014 and one last week. I called last week and spoke to a nice gentleman who questions a few accounts I have in collections which are 4+ years old..I explained my situation and told the guy I am trying to rebuild and to look at my last 6 months of perfect payments. I did mention that I applied back in October and the guy I spoke to then told me to just let some of my accounts gain a little history and to reapply..

So far on my recons I am 2 for 2..Barclays and Chase Slate. Be sure to point out all the positives if you have been trying to rebuild as of late. When I called for recon my utilization was about 7% amongst all my cards, I have 3x cards established with Cap1 and mentioned that to them as well..

Good luck and it never hurts to try...you'll never know.
