Ha ha. I thought I was the only one who did that.
I am totally guilty of this. I don't think for one second its anything to be ashamed of. It is exhibiting good self control. If we pulled the trigger on every possible application, and did not have good/excellent credit, it would definitely become a problem!
My thing for me isn't so much a NOT pulling the trigger...it is feeling guilty about NOT doing my research. I wish I never would have applied for the Sams club credit card. It was supposed to be a mastercard. Free $50. Yet mysteriously gets downgraded to their private label synchrony with a CL of $1200. Ok... with a score of 688/650/669 I sure as heck wasn't going to waste the HP and NOT take the added line of credit....
Man. This whole thing really is like a challenging game. You really do your research, not act impulsively, and can get some pretty amazing deals. Pair all of this with being frugal, slick deals, and couponing....and yeah..... I just want to be able to get the really good sign up bonus deals like chase sapphire.
Nope OP, you are not alone.
<raises hand>
Yup, guilty too... Funny to see that in the end, everyone just wants to feel accepted or given "approval" even from a blind computer..
I have a rule when I do that.. I call it the "one touch submit" rule. I have a touch pad on my laptop.. If the app does not submit after one quick finger touch of the pad, then I don't hit it a second time.. I then start to get depressed and spend an hour cleaning, and blowing out my keyboard and touchpad so that it doesn't happen again..
I have 4 new cards this month
