Is it silly to app for Prestige

Is it crazy to app for the Prestige card just for the travel and AA lounge benefits?

For a net $200, I'm sure that I can get at least 5x that with the card's benefits.  My dilemma is that I don't need another card or reward program.

Hmmm. what to do?  I filled out the app twice then closed it, lol!

lol. honestly you're confliction is common but it sounds like you're already set with your lineup. granted if you think the financial gains are worth it then it's something to consider but if you feel your spend is stretched enough as-is you may not want yet another card to juggle, AAoA ding and HP.

Re: Is it silly to app for Prestige

do you have other cards that have AFs that provide a similar benefit? or can this card replace one or two other cards to save you even more money? idk what your line up is sorry.

Is it silly, maybe but it happens sometimes. If you are not sure about it, don't apply. In my opinion, you should only apply for the cards that you are sure that you want.

Amex plat, no AA lounge, golf or 4th night free.  Used up airline credit already and book 2 FHR already this year.  I'm not worried about AF because I feel I would get the benefits.

Line-up Amex plat, EDP, Discover, Venture and Ink+

Thanks, but this is the only card I have been thinking of getting because I do travel a lot.

Re: Is it silly to app for Prestige

it sounds like you do travel a lot lol. i mean i would probably get out a paper and write pros and cons and see what you feel. it sounds like an ok idea but i would spend another day or two weighing out the benefits

Re: Is it silly to app for Prestige

It's ultimately your choice, and it sounds like you have a good grasp on the benefits and how they well be helpful to you. Take that information and decide if it's worth applying. You don't want to spread too thin, but if the card will provide sufficient value above and beyond what you have, it may be worth it.

I don't think it's silly. People apply for CSP just because it's metal. In your case, you plan to use the actual benefits.

redpat, I agree with 2011XTEROOR on this. Go through the benefits and then if you want the card, go app for it. In all reality, you are the only one that can tell you to do it. Good luck if you decide to go for it.

It is funny to me to get a card that you are not going to swipe much just to get the benefits, I'm doing that with my Plat now, I will have two then.

This is what is so odd for me, to apply for credit but I not doing it for the credit, lol.
