One of my friends has two credit cards with NFCU, Cashwise (CL-41K) and Rewards one with Amex logo (CL-36k), total CL on both cards is $77k, which means there is still a room for $3k more CL to get to have a maximum exposure of $80k if its true and possible. She was suggested by her friends to get Flagship card even though she knows that she doesn't have to. She is very much confused as to whether or not to apply and get this Flagship card because of its AF. She knows that first year AF will be waived, but she is wondering if its worth getting Flagship card when AF is the breaking deal. None of its benefits attract her because she gets most of them from her other cards. She doesn't want many cards, so she is thinking to get this card and relocate limit from those two NFCU cards to this Flagship card and the close down those two cards but confused given AF of its.
Please give your personal opinion it is worth paying AF to have this card, and if its so then why? Thanku.....

Why help her get a card when she doesn't need. You have already listed that she has 2 NFCUs so what other cards does she have?
Reguardless about NFCU. That is up to her if she wants the Flagship, but if she is getting the benefits from other cards, then why not settle by not applying. I am assuming when you said "cashwise" that you mean "cashrewards" so if she has direct deposit that card becomes 1.75%.
Don't forget now, NFCU has stopped with reallocating limits unless its for a BT now.

zack:
Im not trying to suggest her to get this card or any other card. She has a concern and asked for my help to ask over here. She is interested in Flagship for the bonus and also intetested to relocate credit limit from other two cards to here, if posdible...
The minimum SL for the Flagship is typically $5K, so I don't know how that would be treated with only $3K left of the $80K TCL that Navy allows.

This.
Also, it sounds like this really wouldn't be a good fit for your friend.
Lastly, the AF actually ISN'T waived the first year. The SUB consists of 35k bonus points (worth $350 I believe) and a free year of Amazon Prime. No AF waiver.
Already having $77K in aggregate CL means that they would either have to PC one of their existing cards (no SUB) or see if NFCU would go along with a bit of handwaving by doing something like first decreasing the limit by at least $2K on a current card just before an application is submitted for the Flagship. Technically it's possible to go over the $80K cap but examples of it being done without a later "oops we goofed so we fixed that" adjustment are rare.
Whether a card is valuable is purely subjective.
It does not sound like your friend would benefit from this card in any way.

@coldfusion, Spot on as usual ^^^^^^
I was going to say CLD first.
The $49 AF on the Flagship is pretty cheap, compared to other AF cards.
I Would only do it, if needed the HIGH SL and could maximise the benefits of the card?
ETA: Also would like to note; There are times that NFCU offers a 0% promotional balance transfer at the beginning of the year, that they don't always offer on The Platinum. But it is not guaranteed every year. Having a card with 80K CL and a 0% BT offer can be quite nice.

Oh...however, its a very good point though...
