Is this a real capital one email?

I closed one card, applied for a better one and was instantly denied, 2 days later I get this email from them.  The way they want me to login seems really fishy to me and I was already denied so why provide MORE info?  Unless its a way to avoid sending out a paper decline?

Contents of email:

K*** D S*******,

Thank you for your interest in a Capital One® credit card.

We are writing to provide you with additional information regarding the decision to decline your recent application. Recognizing this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, we want to help you understand why and have explained the reason for this decision in a secure letter.

You can access your letter with a unique user ID and password. Once accessed, you may download or print a PDF of the letter for your records.

To the side of that is a box that has the login instructions,

Login ID is your email, password is your SSN, birthday and then 5 digit zipcode in a long numerical order.

Thanks for any input anyone, just wondering if its real Smiley Happy

*edit*

forgot to add, the site it sends you to is https://capitalone.edelivery-view.com/

Re: Is this a real capital one email?

It's real. I thought it was fake too when DH got the email. Alot of companies are moving over to paperless statements to send out the denial letters. So far Walmart and Cap One does it from what I see.

"Login ID is your email, password is your SSN, birthday and then 5 digit zipcode in a long numerical order."

That's an INSANE amount of information to demand (especially to demand via a sketchy email message) just to access a denial letter! Man, aren't these people aware of ANY security concerns?????
