Yes, it's a true pre approval.

Re: Is this a true approval Cap one?

Cap One is usually pretty solid, I'd say (compeltely arbitrary number here) 90% of people who have a pre-qual with them get approved.  There are some cases, as with any credit card, that people have been denied after a pre-qual showing.

Depends what you want, cash back and no AF, then go QS.  Big bonus and travel rewards and you don't mind an AF, go with the Venture.

Do either one have a higher starting limit?

Historically for many people Venture has a higher starting credit line.  If you choose Venture, there's no AF the first year, and most likely you can PC to a no-AF Quicksilver before the first AF is due.  The Venture also has the most generous sign-up bonus.

The only drawback to Venture is there is usually no 0% promo... if you want a 0% promo you'll need to go with the Venture One or Quicksilver.  If you want the absolute lowest APR you'll want to choose Venture One, although the rewards are slightly lower (and more restricted) than the Quicksilver - and you really don't want to revolve on a rewards card, anyway.

Hope this helps!  Smiley Wink

When I got mine. My venture have a higher starting limit compared to QS. Venture started at 15000 QS started at 8000. Since I got a CLI where venture is 20k and QS is 16k. Once I'm able to combine all my cards I will and have 1 card (QS) at over 45k limit. Also have another QS that was PCed from platinum and have a QS1

Yes.  Definitely true.  If you want a larger SL, go for the Venture.  And congrats on the pre-approval!  Woman Very Happy
