So, I was approved for a capital one quicksilver about 2 months ago and was approved. Knew this was a risk (also why student version) - applying for discover shortly after. But seeing as those are 2 hard inquiries in quick secession would it be wise to try for a secured discover it or should i just leave that out and try to build credit with my capital one card? Again, i was more worried about establishing credit history than needing credit

If you don't need the credit, don't jeopardize your credit history through impatience.  Use the Cap1 card responsibly for at least 6 months ... or 12 ... or 24.  Watch your scores, and when they start to rise (and ideally you get a limit increase from Cap 1) ... then apply (if your history & scores support the applications).

My two cents.

To darrin073

Should i send you the emails from my advisor of the institution i plan on going to in the next 6 months (which was the school used on the app (that was never sent)) or the school email i was using 6 months ago? Or the previous institution i went to or the college email where i take extra classes and have that college email as well?

To expatcanuck: thank you very much
