Re: It appears I'm at my max with Amex

Wow, I guess I'm definitely the minority in here at about 6-1 or so on people that are bugged out by non-round credit limits verses oddball numbers!

You are NOT the only one who is weirded out by "odd" amounts. If my balance is $457.92, I will make a payment of $7.92!

Marathon has been the oddest. I have a limit of $2,090. It goes up but by really odd amounts.

Re: It appears I'm at my max with Amex

You know what I realized while I was responding to another post.

I have both the EDP and BCP with AMEX and both started out at $2300.

Again, not a nice number, but let me explain.

AMEX max without submitting Tax Form 4506t is somewhere in the ballpark of $34.5k per account, right?

So...

$34.5k between two cards is $17.25k each.

After one x3 on each card (within a years time)

$2300 x 3 = $6.9k.

$17.25k/$6.9k = 2.5 <--- A nice number!

Re: It appears I'm at my max with Amex

I thought when combining limits, one could exceed the $34.5k potential threshold with Amex?  If someone has two $20k cards, exposure with Amex is $40k.  If you didn't need IV to get to $40k with them across 2 cards, why would you need it when combining those two cards into one?  Maybe there's an obvious reason out there that I'm overlooking.
