No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I'm not convinced I'm off the BL with Citi even with the prequal.
The top card i want is the Sallie Mae so I think I'll put that at the top of my list.
Then grab a QS using my prequal.
There is the Freedom I prequal for but I already have my Discover.
So currently the top contenders for apping for today are:
1) Sallie Mae
2) QS
Maybe I'll leave it to 2 cards and then reevaluate next year.
Sallie and QS are perfectly solid choices. Id put freedom at the bottom of priorities, its basically the same card as Discover. (Actually IMO a lesser version, unless youre using it with csp)
Go for the VENTURE quick.
a) You have a chance of getting it for no extra credit pulls. Cap1 will often reuse the same credit pulls when you APP back to back.
b) With a $10,000 QS, you will probably get a $20K or $30K Venture
c) You have no other credit cards >$10,000. A $20K Venture helps you get higher limits in the future
I have 3 Ventures and 2 QS myself

A great credit line on a useless card is still useless. Since OP doesn't travel much, he would have very little use for the Venture, and there is absolutely no guarantee of the "no extra pulls" thing.

Shoot, I have a $30K Venture that I do not use...but it's priceless to me
The $30K limit is my highest limit and it helps me get higher limits from other lenders.
My $5000 Overstock got me out of the <$1000 limits. My $17K Lowes got me into the $10K range.
From the day I got my $30K Venture, I got 2 Chase approvals coming in at $17K each instead of my previous Chase high of $12K.
Higher limits beget higher limits. OP's highest limit right now is $10K, Venture will get him $20K boosting his later approval limits.
The value in the Venture isn't the usefulness of the card itself, it's in the high limits which will help you break into the mega limit credit cards..

Useless is useless. Not everyone wants to max the CL world. If you don't need higher limits, why get them?

OP did you app yet? Bang!
I did. Got a $10k QS with a 12.9% APR and a $7500 Sallie Mae with a 13.99% APR.
