I wonder if Amex is now using it the way some other banks do, with the link appearing only when approval for a credit limit increase is likely.
Unavailable for Your Account
You are not eligible to request a Credit Limit increase on this account because you recently opened an account with us. Please try again at a later date. That link did work... but since the account was opened 18 days ago I'm not surprised this is the message I saw instead of a button.
You waited a whole EIGHTEEN DAYS? Wow!! Such restraint!
BTW, I tried the link, too, and got a similar message; mine had to do with having recently gotten a CLI on a different card, hence I'm not eligible right now.

Nah I've already said I'm waiting till 91+ days even if some people have gotten lucky at 60. I just wanted to try the link.
I am excited to see how this new relationship with Amex works out. As said I had a $1k Delta Amex that was closed in late 2016 prior to filing Ch 13 because I did not want to burn them. Here we are 5+ years later and they approved me for $10k and it's now my go to card in my somewhat limited post Ch 13 profile. It's at least twice the limit of my other cards.
On the first card I could never get a CLI. Ever. Probably had something to do with the fact I rarely used the card... and I mean rarely as in a small purchase every few months.
With the new card I have much greater flexibility due to the higher limit so we'll see what happens come CLI time. I've already met the $2k spend for the 75k bonus miles and $3000 a month spend will be the norm for the immediate future because I'm running everything thru it to reach the $10k spend for the flight credit.
Will a $3k monthly spend on a $10k limit warrant a CLI? I dunno. Never been in this position. You Amex experts will have to share your experiences. We'll see in another 75 days. Honestly though I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. I have a $10k limit.
Wow Cool, the 2nd work around worked for me.
Thanks to everyone that posted on this subject.
