Its like an addiction!

I know I most likely wont get approved but its still fun to do Smiley Tongue  I need to stop doing any apps soon but its so fun Smiley Tongue

In the past few weeks....

Paypal something or other, approved

overstock approved

motorola approved

amazon approved

walmart approved

chevron approved

another card i forget approved

BofA denied on 3 cards

Amex denied on 2 cards

Chase denied on 2 cards

home depot denied

Citi denied on 2 cards

hewletpackard denied

dell didnt believe it was me, denied

NASA FCU denied

Oregon CU denied

us bank denied

wellsfargo denied

amazon visa or mc i forget which, denied

target denied

paypal mc/visa whichever it is, denied

A bunch of other random cards, this is off of memory and mine is bad.  I added over 20 inqs to most reports and since all dont query all 3 reports, you can see how big the list was getting.

I tried every prequal I know of (except credit one and first premier and those) and then applied even though there were no offers.

For CLIs I tried all my cards

I got CLIs on victorias, express, overstock, discover and 1 other one I forget off hand.  (new synchrony account)

I know I shouldnt, its dragging my AAoA and score down adding a billion new accounts but its fun Smiley Tongue  My wifes even taking to telling me to stop or saying things like, what the hell kirk, is the only time you dont apply for cards is on your days off and thats because you hate our computer?  and, yep, thats why!

Will be looking for a house end of next year (probably not in a position to buy for up to 6 months after that) so I will have to stop my app sprees soon!  Then its just my monthly CLI requests Smiley Happy

If you think you cheated on gardening or are hating yourself for apping when you shouldnt of.  Just think, you havent done it anywhere near as bad as I have Smiley Happy  So you are doing ok!  Its fun, I keep thinking I should stop or that I am doing something wrong but thats just because I've picked up on the general mentality here and its become my own as well Smiley Tongue  But, not bad, fun!

(AAoA depending on if they factor my oldest account in is .5 years now, if it factors in my oldest accounts I am at 3.5 years, most ficos dont include my oldest accounts.)

Fico dropped from 670s to 630s!  All from new accounts and dropping AAoA because my inquries were over 20 before I started so I dont think that dropped me much if anything.

Re: Its like an addiction!

She cant catch me im the credit fairy!

Seriously though, shes only 5 foot 7 and im well over 6 foot, shes got no chance!  Ill just pick her up and throw her somewhere soft.

(I am doing hers right though, thin file to 660s fico in 7 months, less than 5 inqs and only 3 credit accounts)

She cares about credit FAR FAR less than I do.  Ive gone credit crazy, I help people at work with credit,(Which I now realize I need to get them to apply via my referral links) I helped my parents get cards I am a credit helping machine.  If I could follow my own advice, my credit situation would be much better Smiley Tongue

Ill apply for more, for a bit longer at anyrate Smiley Happy  I am too scared to recon because no matter what I say its going to look bad Smiley Tongue  (I just paid all cards off except chase, walmart, discover and barclay)

The only time a recon worked for me I wasnt trying to recon!  (Called to see if app was approved, they said congrats you got a CLI and your new limit is ###, welcome to victorias secret!)

(Penfed and oregon ducks visa to my list as well of denied apps.)

This stuff is fun, its just too bad you have to wait soo long in between to do stuff!  Wish it was like a game, ohh I have 1.5 years cooldown on my timer for inqs to fall off!  Better make a new account so I can keep playing!  Thats kind of how the people at work, my parents and my wifes credit is Smiley Tongue  They are my newbie starter accounts.

Back to reading the forums at myfico Smiley Happy  and thinking of cards I havent apped for that I could actually use Smiley Happy

Re: Its like an addiction!

Maybe i'm reading this differently or missing the sarcasmic rehtoric but none of this is going to serve you well in any capacity. You mentioned looking ahead 6 months towards  getting a home thats great, but you'll have to face the damage you've done along with any additional apping.

Please look at your credit from the perspective of your wife, your life, your family and of course making life better in general, i'm sure you can appreciate lower bills, better rates as well as many other benefits. I say this in a respectful manner and wish you only goodwill.

Re: Its like an addiction!

Posts like this should be BANNED! That is ridiculous you app'd for some many accounts. Do not brag about it to people who are on here who no very little about credit. You have the right to openly say what you want and I have the right to criticize.

This is is giving a super bad impression to people who are new to credit.

Re: Its like an addiction!

Looking ahead about a year (mid next year) and I said at that point, sometime in that next 6 months (from mid next year) we will be buying.  So about 2 years from now.

I dont know the scoring models lenders use and how it factors inquiries, most dont factor after 1 year.(yes its on report, but not part of score)  If that holds true to mortgage like fico, I am fine with inquries.  If not, I will be within months of the 2 year mark of the inquiries falling off my report anyway.

Inquries shouldnt matter for another 2 months, than I need to stop wasting INQs.

See it more like this, I had no cards, no checking no savings a little over a year ago as well as a few collections and a sub 500 fico.  I did well, I am enjoying myself.  I have about 20 cards now, checking account, 1000+ in savings, a side job for extra money and a fico at about 630.  (Itll go over 700 in 4 months) and low utilization.  We still live month to month pretty much but we could float for over half a year now with what ive done if needed. Thats better than owing 300 more than I have every month like it was before.

Im currently enjoying cash back benefits on cards and because of that (as small as it is) I am getting lower rent and bills.  (I pay my rent and everything with credit card for the cash back)

For me, I am maxing all I can now (making worse) and then coasting down the hill when I am done (making better) picking up the CLI speed bumps along the way.

I could of gone either way but chose what I thought best.  Wife trusts me to do what I think is right.

Mass apply now, inquries up and get mid limit cards and throughout the next year, get CLIs for a higher limit.

Apply in a year for the cards I want and start off with higher limits but have inquiries for another year reporting and getting the house a year later than planned.

I dunno to me it makes total sense?

Alsooo im not a person to mind if you are critical of anything I write, I enjoy differeing opinions and argueing, thats how I come up with my own.

Heck if the mods didnt mind, I wouldnt mind you bashing everything I write and explaining in detail why you think I am stupid, I dont take offence, lifes a learning game and you dont learn if you arnt wrong!
