I got the following screen.

What do do you think? Will I get approved?

Ron.

I sure hope so!  LOL... that almost looked like the same message I received from Santander... hmmmmm...

I know that you & I talked about this one... I'm gonna see how it pans out for you and then I can add this to my list for next year.

Finstar,

I am GP here.  So you have better chance to get the card later this year. Smiley Happy

Happy New Year.

Ron.

Well, let's see I have Merril+, Citi Hilton Reserve, Huntington Voice and SallieMae or Arrival for Fall.  Then there's the WF Propel AMEX and US Bank Amex due to come out later this year so I I'm gonna consider it...LOL... I'll put it on the *wish list*.

Btw, did you apply for the ClearPoints Visa?   That's the only one I know can be applied online.

Finstar,

You have a long list of cards to get. It is hard to stay in the garden. Did I say "Garden"? Smiley Happy By the way, have you applied for FRN card? No pull.

I'm not familiar with either Visa.  What's the skinny on them?

I heard they are pretty easy to get approved. They usually give you generous CL.

Re: Just Applied for BBVA Compass Visa!!!!

I have the Clear Points Visa with them.  I got a preapproval with them early in January of last year.  They tend to give good limits!  When I got mine it was $8,000, which was and still is the highest limit that I have.  I got a CLI from them without asking.  I think they like to see a balance on the card.  I loaned the card to my sister who has kept a balance on the card for the last year of about $1500.  A few months ago the limit went from $8000 to $8500, so not much, but hey it's something.  Since I didn't ask there was no HP.  They actually told me after I got the card not to expect a limit increase unless I asked and if I did it would be a HP.  At the time there was a lot of talk about this card and how generous they were.  And yes, it did turn out to be true, I almost fainted when I got my email with the limit.  I don't think they do instant approval, it was rumored then and since then I haven't known anyone who has posted anything differently about it.

I hope you get the card, you will probably know pretty quickly.  It only took two days for me to get notified!  The rewards are not that good, but the initial sign up bonus was incredible.  I think they made a mistake, because they ended giving me $200 in rewards!  Even since then the rewards haven't amounted to $25.  As of yet, there is no way they have actually made any money on the account.  Soon they will though, but whatever, it's not my charges.  (And yeah, my sister does pay it on time, thank goodness.)

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback. I applied for the card and it was denied due to EWS.  I wasn't on EWS (like Chexsystem). It was an error. They used to have instant approval. I just pulled a triple credit report and I haven't gotthen a HP yet.  It looks like they have to manual review my apps for a decision. I don't have any checking with them. They don't have too many branches here like BofA, Checking. I know the rewards is ok.  I want to try something different like Finstar.

I applied two years due to EWS (bad checks like Chexsystem). It wasn't. I talked to EWS. I got a letter from them. It stated they didn't have any negative on me.  I was able to open Chase, USAA checking. They checked EWS to open a checking.  There wasn't any negative on my credit report.  I called them for recon. They told me to re-apply inside the branch. I didn't . Congrats on your limit increase!!!

Thanks for your info.
