Keep checking but no pre-qualified offers from Chase

Started using credit cards again after over a decade in hiding. No negatives, no history with Chase. My score is around 720 depending on which bureau. Only 1 HP from Amex, soft inquiries i'm not sure but it can't be that many since I've only applied to 3 cards and been approved for all 3. All of my cards are fairly new. Been checking around prequal sites and almost every bank is ok with me having at least one of their cards except for Chase. My next card will take me to 4/24 so I'm planning for a Chase card. Gardening for another 6 months or so but I just can't get it out of my head that Chase is not offering anything when everyone else is ok.

Anyone else with a similar profile and having the same issue? Or more interestingly somebody with a similar profile but have been approved for a Chase card with no prequals? Would love to hear from the forum.

Chase wants over a year of history on credit use, and it sounds like you’ve only recently started building your file again. Also, they don’t like being the first to give you $xxxx limit - they let someone else do it first and watch how you handle it. First point is the more important of the two though in your case - you haven’t been reestablished long enough to qualify.

Also, if you have negative history with them or with any bank they’ve since absorbed, that can make it very hard to get in with them.

Re: Keep checking but no pre-qualified offers from Chase

I got my CSP back in March - My oldest revolver was 8m at the time.
My only other (older) history was just defaulted student loans - I  had a new consolidated, current loan, but the defaults were still there.  Honestly, I'm kinda shocked I got it.     I did NOT have any offers when I checked prequals on Chase's site.

Try signing up for Chase's Credit Journey site (just ignore the VantageScore). I never get prequalified via their webtool but have CF, CFU and CSP preapprovals with solid APRs via Credit Journey.

17k  My highest when I applied was 1600.
As far as I can tell, Chase didn't treat me like it normally does (and for that, I am grateful).
My only interaction with Chase was a Subaru auto loan from 2006-2009, I dunno if that helped, but when I registered my card online, my old info was in their system.

wow that's a really high SL for somebody with only 8 months and a $1600 highest limit card. definiately not the norm i'm pretty sure...
