Too much is put into trying to understand these reasons . If your profile and income support huge limits, with Navy, more than likely you will achieve it. Even less than perfect profiles and LIErs get more than they usually bargain for. Time, good payment history are huge factors with Navy. Sometimes people wsnt it in a month when a couple of months is sll Navy asks forMost lenders would m as ke you wait years for what Navy often gives.
No kidding!
When I got approved for $1K on my cash Rewards card this summer, I had very high util, low income, and a 6-month-old 90 day late.
In the next three months, I loved the heck out of the checking account (many deposits—but I'm poor so we're not talking about big bucks!
) and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the credit card. Made my minimum spend (but not by much, because I'm poor!) to get the sign-up bonus. Kept my balances down on all my credit cards. Sent in payments often. Was always on top of all my credit card payments.
After all this love and attention, and 91 days and three statements later, I got approved for $17K on the AMEX card. Could have knocked me over with a feather!
Don't worry, give it time, treat them right and they'll treat you right.
WOW! Thats very encouraging. Im working on my bonus. Ive spent about 1100 of the 2500 in less than 30 days so far. Hopefully thats helps. Unfortunately I have to charge then make a payment immediately since the limit is so low. Im also a bit nervous because my AMEX is due for the 3 times CLI around my 91 day mark with Navy. I dont want issues with AMEX as this is the issuer of some of my personal and business cards.
Ideally I would like a card with limit over 15000 so I can pay my taxes and homeowner insurance annually without worrying about utilization.
Ill keep my fingers crossed
