Wait! Kohls max credit limit is $4000 for "anyone"??? Am I reading this right?

Yeah that does kinda raise my eyebrow...  aaSuspicious_DXD5FP.gif

I know you can buy half the store with $4000. but that still seems super low for a max CL.

Dinosaur posted this to me on another thread though so it's coming from multiple sources.

Re: Kohls CLI Wow I Feel Dumb.

You dont' get a hard pull for a CLI with Kohl's so I don't know why you would feel dumb.  I cancelled my Kohl's card at 300 credit limit because of being overwhelmed by their mailings.  Their constant coupons are points that expire quickly are the most annoying thing that any store does.  Of course their regular prices are so high that if you go in there without a coupon you are getting ripped off.

If I hadn't been rebuilding my credit I would have never experienced the Kohl's coupon barage or their stores.  I think part of their strategy is to give anyone with a pulse a 300 dollar limit.  And cap the limit so sure a lot of cards wont' get paid off but they wont' lose much.

Omg lol...im not a kohls credit card holder but your not kidding about the coupons!!! Every time I shop there, I swear when I go back and I use them I'm always a day late. I have lots of them piled up in my receipt folder that I've never been able to use. (Old Navy does this to me too)

Yep, read it but Dino's post to me said $4000-5000 was the reported max. So I was figuring it's in the ballpark.

Soooooo it's still pretty darn low but again it's Kohls and that amount goes a LONG way.

Re: Kohls CLI Wow I Feel Dumb.

@Legal_Girl is the only one that I know of that has provided DPs for a Kohl's credit line over $4,000 (and I'm not doubting her at all; there are always exceptions to the rule in the credit world).  The maximum amount that we've seen here otherwise is during a brief window when a handful of us got CLIs to $4,000 in July and August of 2017.  DW's card has been open since the early 90s and sits at $3,000 - all attempts to ask for $4,000 in the past year have been declined with the "you already have the maximum credit line" letter.  I'm comfortable stating that at the present time, $3,000 will be the highest credit line one can currently obtain on a Kohl's card.  And the progression is usually 300-700-1500-2500-3000.

Re: Kohls CLI Wow I Feel Dumb.

@K-in-Boston & @Pikaboo-icu: Thank you for the additional information. It sounds like Legal_Girl is very much an outlier. My only concerns were for accurate data & that it seemed her post was being totally ignored.

You've both contributed to my better understanding this lender -- thank you.

Aside: how come my @member'sname doesn't highlight & underline in blue? Is that done manually, and if so, to what end (other than aesthetics)?

There's a function that sends an alert to the member that "their name has been mentioned" & the post, thread where to find it.

In most of the forums I've participated in & owned, it's a tool for everyone but here on My Fico I believe only a mod or admin has this tool.

In my case using it, I faked it by copying the member name- no alert gets sent but you get the pretty blue, underlined name. AAsmileysnicker.gif

@Pikaboo-icu, that is correct.  Community Leaders also have the ability to do so.
