My Lowe's card was opened on November 12, 2021. I know a CLI request will be a SP but when can I request my first one? I do not want to do it too soon to be declined for the account not being old enough. I have made one charge on the card so far and I paid it off in full. It has been a long time since I last poked the bear enough said on that
Thank you in advance,
Mark
Request one now. It's Synchrony, they'll either approve or deny and you can ask anytime you want.
I believe I opened mine about 2 weeks after you did. The datapoints I've read are that the easiest way is to wait until the "Increase Credit" button shows up underneath your total available credit (this is on the full website version) and then use that. Plenty of people have gotten increases as soon as that showed up for them. The other way that I have read some people have success with is that even if the button is not there, to do a chat with a customer service representative on the website and ask for your limit to be increased because of upcoming renovations you have planned. When you first apply for the card you can also call credit solutions overseas and ask for the same thing which is what I did. My initial limit increased from $3,000 or $6,000 up to $17,000 if memory serves. This was around Thanksgiving so a little over a month ago.
As an added datapoint, I've checked Lowes everyday since activating my card and the "increase credit" button appeared as soon as my first statement cut. I plan on requesting an increase within the next few weeks as soon as some lower balances report.
If you go for it, keep us updated and good luck.

WOW great information. Thank you. So I just went and checked my account the "increase credit" thing is there. My statements cut off on the 17th of the month. Should I wait until the 18th to apply? again, account opened on 11/12/2021 with the first statement cut off on 11/17/2021.
It has been a long time since I did a CLI at this bank. How much is considered "safe" to ask for? the SL is $9,000. How much is not considered out of line? I do not want to open eyes so to say even though they have verified my income along the way.
Thanks
Mark
You're welcome. Maybe some others can chime in as well but I my opinion would be to go for the button first and depending on the outcome of that give the overseas credit solutions number a call. Ask for the moon. The highest anyone has been documented on here for the lowes card is $35,000 (without poi) I believe. Anything higher requires POI. I would ask for $35,000 when hitting the button. They will counter or deny if their algorithm is not comfortable with extending more credit to you at present time. It's not uncommon to go from sub $10,000 SL to $17,000-$35,000 in one go.
Disclaimer: The above being said- No matter how good, bad, thick, or thin your profile is- poking the Syncrony bear, so to speak, has inherent risk of them closing some or all of your accounts with them. It's up to you if you think that it is worth it. Some people think it is, some don't.
Keep us updated and good luck, Mark.

Well without getting into too much detail. I know about account closures with them
So my new Lowe's card is my first with them right now, and since then I did get 4 other new cards with that same bank.
I mean yes, I know they can close me for too many CLI requests LOL been there done that. Now that I have new cards I really would like to keep them this time. I am fine if they close me I have plenty of other cards to use but if I have a choice I rather keep them open.
I am going to pass on the CLI request at this point and just stay under the radar. Thank you for opening my eyes. And I should have known better to even ask based on my own history. I better shut up now LOL
Thanks
Mark
Ah yes, I remember those posts now that you mention it lol. No worries. In my opinion we're all here to help each other improve our credit.
They closed all 7 of my accounts yesterday. Available credit loss of $77,350. My scores dropped from an average of 756 to 754. Only a two point drop.
The odd thing is that they just gave me a new Chevron Visa card last week. That is now closed too along with all my other accounts.
I really dont miss them as I now have 48 remaining open accounts with other banks. My utilization stayed the same at 1%.
I will never go back to that bank for anything in the future. I was expecting this for months now after reading how they where closing accounts. I really am not going to loose any sleep over this as those accounts where over kill for me anyway.
So, I guess you didn't really mean this when you wrote it about fifteen months ago, huh?
My advice is tread carefully. You know how they work and you've even had this Lowe's card before because I remember you posting about CLI's on it too. Now you say you have 5 more Synch cards. Be easy and go VERY SLOW this time man don't let them get you again.
