Macy 31 day question

Got approved for a small sl on a Macys card ($300).  I keep seeing snippets about  31 day "trick", but can't seem to unravel how to start the process as a new card holder.  I get the app for a sp cli every 31 days, but 31 days after opening date?  After first statement drops? After I make 1st payment?  I'd really love to grow this one.  If someone got drop a link to the basics on starting this one, I'd appreciate it

Keep in mind that the 31 days trick that you're referring to isn't guaranteed. You can try whenever you like and if they feel like it's too soon they're put up a notice with a phone number to call.

I didn't started getting CLIs on my Macy's card until it was over 2 months old. The CLI frequency on this card is very YMMV.

Loquat, thanks for the info.  I always assume everything is YMMV as no 2 people's credit situation is identical.  I searched through the site (wording my search as best as I could form it) to try and backtrack to the beginning of those comments, but just couldn't seem to get to the basis of that particular story.  I'm thinking my best bet is to make a purchase every month, pay in full and ask for some love in 3-4 months to get a handle on how my situation is going to work out!
