Are your reports frozen? More than likely it means they will want to get your consent to HP in order to process the request.
What is your current limit and how much did you ask for an increase?

My reports are not frozen, my limit is $1,900.00, could not ask for any increase.

They may want to verify some information over the phone?
Just to make sure that it is really you?, and not someone else with your card?,
wanting an increase to go on a spending spree ..with no intention of repaying.
Hi @razzy116 with my first cli I had to call in as well. They wanted to hp me but I did get my first cli.....$5k. Go ahead and call them...won't hurt to call.
When you do, ask if you could request a sp cli. Let the csr look into it while you're on the phone. You may luck out and get a sp request. (ETA: you don't have to take the hp request if that's the reason they wanted you to call in. You can politely decline the hp....it won't hurt your cli chances later on.)
After I took the initial hp cli request (the first cli) the following cli's I request were processed through the portal (without having to phone for the request). Plus each and every cli request (approved or denied) were sp's from there on out. Good Luck and let us know what you decide to do.

Yep @GApeachy has it covered.
One other note...they may tell you..."okay, I'm going to place you on hold and process and then while on hold" then you may get a call....it's them...calling you on another line to verify it's you....put the first call on hold, answer the second call...it'll be the same rep...and after they verify, you can go back to your original call. I declined the call the first time it happened as I didn't want to lose the call I was on and they came back and said they couldn't verify me....that's when I realized that was them calling on the other line. This is not ALWAYS the case but keep this in mind...
Every time i click on the button it says to call, does anyone know why it says that?

You aren't eligible for increase simply by using the online portal. Must speak with a CSR if you want one.

How much are you asking for?
I've received that message because of requesting to early, for asking for to much... and embarrassingly enough... score to low.
If you call, they will ask you questions and give a decision and/or reason for denial. Maybe you've already hit your max exposure with Citi's retail division?
I have a credit limit of 1900.00, i know thats not the max credit limit for the store card.
It isn't the maxinum limit that the store card can reach but the autobot's model determined that the current state of your credit profile puts you in a grey area where it couldn't approve an increase yet couldn't definitively indicate a denial was justified.
If you call in you will get transferred to an analyst who will pull up your report (should be a soft pull), ask you what you want, and make a decision while you're still on the phone. I don't specifically know if they will extend a counteroffer or not.
