I went through the same ordeal with Nordstrom. I called and was told to send a copy of my ID and a recent bill to verify address, since we recently moved out of state. I mailed them, but they were received outside the 30 days to be considered on the same app. I decided I wanted the card enough that I went into a store and applied and was approved. Wilwar is correct, you can call EO, but unfortunately, in my case, too many days went by. Congrats for getting the approval! There is a boatload of knowledge on these forums and I appreciate everyone here!
if they were going to give you the macys regular store credit card then they did you a favor by denying you because they arent the most popular creditor these days.
Macy's is not worth it, sorry you had to go through all of that. Macy's/ DSNB has caused a lot of people headaches on the board and they are not doing very well as a company right now, either.
I'm having a very similar issue with my Amazon and Walmart cards. I tried to request CLI, and they informed me they couldn't verify my identity with my phone number (really?!). They then started they couldn't process any CLI for me without my phone number being "verified". Would you have any recommendations for that situation?

So true! It is a shame to what it has become.

Such BS!!!!! Don't take that sh*t, I got denied for my Macy's Amex for the same reason, call this number 800-627-2909, if they give you the same sh*t call the EO, I was able to get my denial overturned through the EO
Macy's EO: (513) 579-7000
I agree!!! I would be speaking to someone higher up. What was the point of saying to call in?
I think they must have some kinds of software that gives them the name and service provider on the phone. Nordstrom put me thru this a couple days ago. They didn't say they couldn't identify me through my phone number but they asked what carrier was my phone thru and I told them Trac Phone that I only turn on when I want to call someone. It is always off at all other times. They said okay but I had to send in identity stuff so I don't know what they will do next. I just thought it was odd asking about the phone I was using.
