There are posts in a few different threads regarding Macy's approvals and CLIs with data points that could be valuable to some in the community so I'm moving them here for more visibility.

While it's fine to briefly mention a CLI or approval in this thread please continue to share details about those over in "Credit Card Approvals".

My card is a little over 2 years old and is still at $300. I keep hoping for a auto cli. I am scared to request an increase, as I don't want to take a HP right now.

I used to work at Macy's and I can tell you that it was very common to open new accounts for people and see starting credit limits of 300-600 dollars. I can't explain why, but that just seems to be how Macy's likes to roll....

My Macy's card is a little more than a year old and it started at $300. I have used it moderately and am now up to $5000.

At one point macy's was giving my CLI every 30 days but that has definitely cooled down.

They do like to see activity but I only use mine a couple times a year and CLI have not really been an issue. NOV/DEC/JAN they were handing me CLI's... that has cooled to about every 4 months. I just got one in sept but will hit them again on black friday and closer to christmas.

Log into your account right now and ask for the moon. If they need a hard pull they’ll let you know, deny you or counter.

Literally nothing to be afraid of and you have to say yes for a hard pull.
