Was approved for $500 last Black Friday. Got CLI six months later to $2,000. Will go for $3500 next April.
Interesting.. I got my Macy's card last year to buy some shoes and have not used it since. SL is $300. Because of this post, I decided to request credit increase on the site and now have $1800 CL. Still not great, but not bad considering I have only used the card once

They want a see a nice payment pattern for a huge increase. Just buy something like any cheaper perfume every month for a few months and make sure you pay in full. After every statement, ask for a cli online and you would be happy to see your credit limit grow bigger and bigger. If you do it, within a few months it is almost possible to have a credit limit of around 15000. If you are lucky, then more.
The representative told me that my account was only one month old and that was the reason for the lesser increase. She suggested I make a nice payment pattern for at least three months for a bigger increase.
I've had my Macy's card for 16 years, SL $100. I was 18 when I opened it and made some bad decisions early on but got back on track.
Fast forward to 6 years ago I started buying household products for my new apartment and they bumped me up to 1k but a few months later, even though I made timely payments, they knocked me back down to $100.
I have repeatedly asked for CLI, as recently as last week, and still get denied. So the card stays in my sock drawer. I won't ask again. Just keeping it open for account maturity.

Yea, I will maybe one day when i actually shop at Macys again. I was just testing it to see if I could even get a CLI. Do you know if they close accounts for inactivity and if so how long?
Another 30 days; another CLI. $6500-8000
Asked for $10,000 but they countered for $8000
So far started at 300.00 bucks, didnt use for a year asked for CLI a few months back, they gave me 3k, just asked for 10k today and they said
Congratulations

I applied for this card in August and my SL was $100. I made one purchase of $40, waited for the statement and paid the balance. Requested a CLI on 12/4 and they gave me $1600. Citi and I have a love hate relationship.
