Macy's application declined due to number of inquiries

Good Morning

I applied for a Macy's card online and it said we will send you a letter within 7-10 days. I received the letter last night and the application was declined due to too many inquiries. They pulled Experian and I have about 11. 6 of them are almost over 6 months. Was wondering if I should recon?

Thanks

It certainly never hurts to ask. If their main reason was number of inquiries, you might find yourself on the outside looking in. I'd wait for another six months for those inquiries to age and then try again.

Or come and garden with us. Time takes care of many things. In a year those inquiries won't effect your scores.

Gardening? What is that?? Lol .. I am going to start gardening in the new year (new year's resolution ) I will call Macy's on Monday to see if they will change their mind. That was the only reason listed on the denial letter.. So hoping they will move.

Think what he/she means is that you let your stuff grow ( your score and credit age ) for an amount of time before you go and try again. With age, things usually get better .
