They pulled Experian score 719 7 inquiries 9% utilization
I got the 2-week notice what does this typically mean?
Someone stick me in the garden and lock me in.
UPDATE: I received the denial letter. The only reason for denial was too many inquiries.
No Baddies?
Typically I've seen the two-week notice result in a denial. You may want to call the recon line Macy's: 800-477-2167 and ask about the recent app, if there was anything they needed from you etc? It could be something simple.. Best of luck to you, let us know if you got approved

No, aside from my high 9% utilization
My AAOA is only 1 year 3 months so that is pretty bad and my oldest account is 2 years old.
I was hoping to be approved for the cobrand since it had a little more flexibility; however, now it is looking like I will be declined for both.
I read online that calling into recon often results in another hard pull and a denial.
I did not really consider the fact that this was a Citi card. Citi has refused to increase the limit on my Sears card because my profile does not meet their increase standards.
I applied for the macys card 3 months ago and got the mesage that they needed more information and to call in( same when i got the bloomies amex) when i called i had to verify info and there was no additional hard pulls. My score on experian was 717 at the time. They started me out at 500 and i have gotten soft pull increases and now am at 9,000. In my opinion its a great card to have, i would call and see whats going on.

I am kind of regretting my decision to apply, I will see what the letter says. I really have no use for the basic store version the only thing I have been buying from Macy's is my Chanel Cologne/ Deodorant which I can buy at Belk, Nordstrom or Von Maur (The stores I frequent). In all honesty, I am not a department store shopper for myself the majority of my clothes come from American Eagle.

I applied for the Macy's card about 4 times before I finally got an approval. The later upgraded to the AmEx one.
I really needed the card since I shop there often for my costmetics, shoes and home.
Try again next time especially if you shop there often.
Sounds like they are tough! I am glad you finally got your card. I kind of have trouble justifying the fact of applying again for another stores card when I can charge Interest-free at Von Maur.
Also Macys coupons have infuriated me over the past few days.
Update: I received the denial letter today, data points added to original post.
