Update: I received the denial letter today, data points added to original post.

Go in store and app for some reason the pull TU in store. Had a friend who applied online and they pulled EX and she was denied went in store a week later and got approved.

I have 15 inquiries on TU so it would be a fruitless endeavor

man i am so surprised they denied you because of too many inquiries. I had 14 on experian and about 11% utilization when they approved me. And half of those inquiries were within 2 months! Lenders are weird lol

I believe that the OP's denial letter will list the *primary* reason, but it should also provide the subset decline reasons associated with the scoring on why she didn't qualify. It'll likely be listed toward the end of the letter.

I would scan the letter for you so you can see that I did not lie. It is the first decline letter I have ever received with no subset of decline reasons.

It has a section "why we're writing you"  which says we are unable to approve you which lists the one decline reason.

Then it has the "how we made our decision" which says we obtained a report from experian. does not list my score or anything else

Then it has the heading "Free copy of your credit report" noting I can request a free copy as normal.

Then it has the heading "how to contact us"

Then it has the notice of equal credit opportunity. then it says the creditor is DSNB says American Express is a federally registered trademark.

At the very bottom is says THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.

Therefore, Unless they have left out a page of the letter I am not withholding any information.

Do not talk about me as if I am not here.

Interesting.  So no score provided either?

The comment I made above simply indicates that in most declined applications from DSNB/Macy's or Bloomingdale's tend to provide those additional details.  That's all.  No one was implying you withheld information.

Sorry, Finstar, it has been a week and that gives me no excuse to be short with you since you were trying to help me.

No, they did not provide a score, I think it is odd. I usually get the big list of everything Experian may think is wrong with my report on letters.

Experian is my strongest profile in terms of inquiries. 3 of the 8 were new but the others were about 8 months old the majority of them were from Chase (Approved CLI requests, one from TD, one from Synchrony, and one from Comenity). I am surprised they did not even offer the store card although I thought my profile would warrant the Amex.

That is definitely puzzling.  If anything, absent the criteria to qualify for their AMEX, for sure consideration for the store card would've been my bet.  Or even a far stretch, the AMEX with a lower SL.

Well, on the upside, you received a CLI on TD Bank which usually tends to be a challenge sometimes.  That one definitely is a winner in my book for sure.  I would say just space some things for a while.  This way, you don't get killed with the recent inquiries and their scoring factors diminish over time.
