I currently work for macys and best buy and I was denied for best buy yesterday (11-4-15) with no possibility of recon so I was wondering should I get the macys amex so I ca round of my credit profile and have 3 cards cause of right now I only have 2 in my name a Discover IT 1K and Wells Fargo secured 300 ... Of course I would get my mom to cosign with me so I can get approved as she as excellent credit and either 0 or 1 inquires on her credit report.. Do you guys think this is a good idea.
Scores are EQ: 673 and TU: 684
I read previous posts where you were recently approved for BOA secured and are an AU on a $7.5K chase freedom. If this correct, that gives you a pretty good line up to work with. I would just let those age like cheese for a while to build up your AAOA. No one can say for sure if you'd be approved for a Macy's Amex, worst case scenario you would end up with the store version. If you work at macy's you still need a card to take advantage of your discount correct? At least that is what I heard. If you can afford a HP you might as well apply and find out one way or the other, because you seem fairly determined to apply, after that hit the garden, a little time and patience will do wonders for your file. Good Luck!!
I really am determined but i dont have the BOA anymore because I switched banks and yeah you do have to have the card for the discount.

Did you close the BOA card because you switched banks? You know you don't have to bank there to have a card there right?
I closed it because they had messed up my checking and saving accounts and it was taking them too long so I switched to wells fargo and they approved it with in a day and took the money two days later

Macys Amex will more than likey pull EX for you, although it could have changed a little bit usually an EX puller. I'd say having at least a 690 for the amex, closer to 700 the better.
