Hi, I have a question. I have had my Macys store card now for over a year and a halfand started out with a 400 dollar credit limit. then after about 5 months they increased it to 2,000 which i was very surprized. Although i would buy omething every month and pay bill off. right now I am looking to increase my limit a bit higher. The problem is i dont want to ask for too much,a fair amount. I bought a handbag in January so right now i have a balance of 175.00. Would it be smarter for me to pay that off in full before I apply for a credit increase? Not sure if it make a difference. Any advice would be so appreciated !
@Hollywppdhillslady,
You don't have to pay the balance off to ask for a CLI. You can ask anytime you want. It will all come down to your entire credit profile. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
thank you very much for your response, I do appreciate it!!

@Anonymous,
You are welcome
If I'm not mistaken, Macys CLIs are soft pulls also so you have nothing to lose.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong

It is indeed a soft pull.
Glad to know they are soft pulls and it would not not be a hard pull . I hear so many different things that it may be a hard pull but then it might be a soft pull. thanks for the info
