Marriott Rewards 7-10 Day Message (Pending)

I pulled the trigger on this card again. I received the same message almost 2 months ago, called lending and they denied me based off of too many inquiries and new accounts. Since then I have read on here that those that received this similar message did nothing and within a week or so find out that they were approved. I'm going to just sit tight and do nothing. If anybody has any further advice please feel free to chime in, but I am going to let this play itself out and see if it does the job.

Here is the message I received:

Thanks for applying.
We need to review your application a little longer.

We'll let you know our decision in writing as soon as we can. If we approve your application, you'll receive your card in the mail in 7-10 business days. Please don't resubmit your application.

Thanks for choosing Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card .

I agree with your plan; it's generally best to just wait it out....don't call underwriting or anything.

Wait!  If you get a decline then recon at that point otherwise wait it out.. You can call the automated status line if it says 2 weeks you should be good, if it says 7-10 days on it then that isn't so good.  Regardless wait it out until they reach out to you either by mail or phone or you receive the card in the mail

I called the automated line and it says it is still being reviewed and they will get in touch with me within 7-10 days. I'll just sit tight.

Re: Marriott Rewards 7-10 Day Message (Pending)

op- although this is not a fact but more so is usually the outcome of the 7 to 10 day phone message, decline.

if it said 2 weeks or had some message that said nothing, id say wait it out for sure.

if you feel like you should get it, do the recon with them now. sounds like a decline so cant hurt.

Re: Marriott Rewards 7-10 Day Message (Pending)

actually op, just ride it out maybe. if you get the decline letter, recon then. im torn because i strictly follow no calling for myself error regardless. but i get 2 weeks on the status line. if i got 7 to 10 day, id just accept it declined and not recon  because i have so many of their cards, etc.

Re: Marriott Rewards 7-10 Day Message (Pending)

I got the same message on my Hyatt app. The next week I received a letter stating I needed to call the fraud department. A few questions later, I was approved. Just wait it out. Still waiting on my card though. So far the longest wait I've had on a card.

Good luck to you.  It's crappy to have to sit and wait for their decision!  I was told by Chase when I applied for my Freedom account , it doesn't hurt to apply at a branch that you associate with.  I don't know if this holds true for a co brand account though.  My Freedom card was declined initially and then approved for 5k once I applied with a CSR at Chase.  I have a diverse portfolio with them as well.
