Marvel 7-10

I applied for the Marvel credit card tonight. I got the 7-10 day message asking me to call in. I called in and verified some info and the rep told me I would receive a letter in the mail in 7-10 days. I assume it's a denial? TU FICO is 797. This was my first inquiry in over 2 years. I had zero inquires when I applied. What gives??

Re: Marvel 7-10

That is odd, as I was approved with a score a bit less than yours with more inq also.  Maybe it was just verification, with that score and no inq you shoudent have a problem.

Re: Marvel 7-10

Probably just a verification letter sent out to the address on file with TU just to be really sure it was you. You most likely didn’t score 100% on their ID check/challenge when you called in. Please keep us posted though.

Re: Marvel 7-10

Thanks for the responses! I called again and the rep told me my application went into further review and he couldn’t tell me if I was approved or denied and to just wait for the letter. Sucks to come out of the garden after more than 2 years for this to happen.

Re: Marvel 7-10

So I received their letter asking me to call back Smiley Frustrated I call back and they have to transfer me to their supervisor who then tells me he's going to send me an email for further verification. I am wondering if it's even worth it at this point.

Re: Marvel 7-10

Re: Marvel 7-10

Weird they had to verify me too and I had scores in that range, 1 inq but not on TU. I've never had to verify before. Maybe Marvel just wants to be really sure there isn't any fraud with their credit card. I'm sure you'll be approved after they can prove it's you!

Re: Marvel 7-10

They want me to send them a notarized letter. This is also the first time I have had to verify. I've been living at the same home all my life.

Meh.  It's not.

I'm still new to Marvel.  (My TU score was 760 or so, lots of inq's and I got approved...)

First, they sent me the wrong design.  Which they DID fix.  Now they're dragging their feet paying a SUB.

I'm not terribly impressed thus far.

Re: Marvel 7-10

Update: I received a new account alert this morning and it was from Sync/Marvel so it looks like I got approved finally after a month of waiting Smiley Surprised
