Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

6 months after opening an Amazon Store Card about 4 years ago, they upped my credit line to $10K.

I have no inquiries in last 2 years or new accounts, scores in the low to mid 700's but hight total UTI 55% with one card at 95% Amazon is at 3%. Higher income now than when I got last CLI but the higher UTI probably offsets that.

I'm curious if they even go higher than $10K for the Amazon Store Card?  And also curious if CLIs can backfire and result in a CLI decrease

Re: Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

I have seen others on this forum state that 10k is the max CL for the store card.  Currently my CL is at $10k.  Every six months when I have applied for a CLI, they gave me some reason for a denial even though my FICO 8s are in low 800s and I have about 1 percent overall utilization.  However, Synchrony never stated I was at maximum level, their turn downs were always things like too many inquiries (I had 2 over 24 months) or too many trade lines with balances when they were all very low figures.  At this point I'll leave the Amazon card as-is and not bother further with them.

This was my gut.  And I've never pushed it over $1500 or financed big ticket items so if I were in their shoes I'd be like "raising his limit isn't going to make us any more money."

Hey @RickNATL ,

It would be great if you would share your growth on this as very few seem to > $10,000.

Did you go from $10,000 to $25,000?

Was it a SP?

Re: Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

Yes, this is rare I've heard of anything over $10K.

What I'm curious about is there any difference in chance of approval if you ask for $10K limit increase to $20K versus $2,500 increase to $12,500 - would they just approve you for $2,500 more on the $10K increase request or do they just approve or dissaprove whatever you request?

The other thing I'm concerned about is my total UTI is much higher than when I got the card which was like 10% and now 55% but not on the Amazon card, it's like 5% just on a long term finance item.  Would the CLI request possibly get my limit knocked down by triggering the account review?  That would be a bummer.

Re: Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

$25k is the limit on the card when.pushing for CLIs online.  You can call in for higher. They will request POI.

Re: Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

I spent, PIF, and requested CLI every few months. When I attempted higher than $25K, I received a letter saying they didn't offer higher. I called in and the agent said she could submit it for me but POI would be needed. I was asking for $5K bump to $30K.

Re: Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

Thanks - having an Amazon Store card with over a $10,000 CL isn't common.

Re: Max CLI for Amazon Store Card

I have been at 10K for years myself. Had the Prime card since it was first introduced in 2015. Finally gave up trying to get an increase. I never come close to 30% utilization in a month so I'm not really worried about it anymore.
