Mini app spree - CSP/BOA denied, Ritz approved

Hello everyone.  This is my first post, after lurking the boards for about 6 months.  I'd just like to add some data points in case it helps anyone.

First, I applied for the CSP, which is the card I wanted the most and got the 30-day email.  Called the status line and got the 7-10 day message.  Called the backdoor number found on the board and I believe I used an old number because the person that answered said she was from the lending department.  Anyway, I have nothing to hide, and I asked her about my application.  She came back fairly quick and said I was denied because of too many new accounts.  I told her that I only have three new accounts in the past 24 months and she said that I had three on my own and four as an AU.  She told me to take myself off those AU accounts and to reapply in 30 days.

I then applied for the BOA Amtrak Rewards card and got automatically denied.  I'll wait for the letter to arrive to see the reason.

Lastly, I applied for the Ritz Carlton card, as I've read that it was easier to obtain than other Chase cards.  I was immediately approved with a $23K limit.  I sent a secure messege and asked if the card could be expedited and I was told it could not, and that I should receive in about two weeks.

My scores are: EX-764, TU-769, EQ-754

Welcome to the forum!

First of all, congrats on your Ritz. I love mine and you will be very happy with yours, I'm sure. Now, all the other denials should tell you that you should garden for awhile. By gardening, I mean not apply for any credit for an amount of time.

Congrats again!

Edit: I just saw your scores in your signature. Are you new to credit and have a thin credit report? Those are pretty good scores to be denied.

Re: Mini app spree - CSP/BOA denied, Ritz approved

I filed a CH13 in Feb 09, and it just fell off all three bureaus, so I've been gardening for almost seven years. I have a Venture 15K limit-6 months old, Amazon 3.5K-15 months old, Overstock 4K-5 months old. I'm an AU on four other cards since 2014.

I have a mortgage since 2005 and student loan obtained last year. My AAoA is about 5.3 years.

I have read over and again why Chase would deny - the 5/24 appears to be steadfast. I dont understand why BOA would say no. You have great stats. Congrats on the Ritz! One great card is a success. Do you need the AU accounts? It would appear you may get in with Chase if you remove

No, I do not need the AU accounts. I've already removed them all and filed disputes with all three bureaus. I knew about the 5/24 rule, but I didn't think AU would count against that. BoA was IIB when I filed 7 years ago, so maybe I'm blacklisted with them.

If BOA was IIB then it's possible you might be blacklisted.  The letter will likely confirm the reasons.

But did they pull 1 on each for both apps ?

I ask ask because I would like to see if I can slip thru the cracks on the CSP app. If I get denied, I will go for the Hyatt card.

But but wondering if it's just 1 pull on each and not 2 pull on each. They're known to let you do 2 apps with 1 pull but didn't know if that was

the case if you got denied on your first app. If that all makes sense to ya
