No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Getting ready to do a mini with currently zero inquiries, on EX & TU. Will start with EX today & tomorrow, and then utilize TU.
I used to go to FW Finance to see which websites to get preapprovals, but it appears they've closed down their forums. I could use some up to date tips on where to start.
I don't have use for store cards really. So, I won't be needing the SCT. I'm looking for 10K+ cards, preferably with no AF. (fee-averse) However, I'm willing to entertain a fee if the card limit is almost sure to be 20K+.
Any tips on strategy are welcome. My Scores are currently between 760 & 800; and since I have no inquiries, I have no new revolving accounts in the last two years.
The strategy (so far) is going to be to review my preapprovals by weight, to apply the highest limit no AF cards. I expect to apply for 3 to 5 cards maximum, spread between EX & TU.
I'd prefer to get a preapproval before pulling the trigger. All the better if there's no hard pull.
If anyone could help out with the most up to date preapproval sites, or any other tips or advice... it will be much appreciated.
I think you can google credit pulls and there is a database you can use that may be helpful.
What banks do your existing cards come from?
I have found through my own experience and from others here that those typically have the best approval odds.
You can either put in pre-qual information or look in "your offers" on your account login homepage.

Thanks. I intended to use this resource after evaluating preapprovals, in order to strategize a minimal amount of inquiries between bureaus.

Thanks. I'm actually preferring to look at first time choices, at the moment. Mainly looking for the best preapproval resource websites, that others here have found useful.
Chase is known for solid pre-quals, so I would start there if you are new to them.
Mine show a specific APR which in an indicator its pretty reliable.
I've also had luck with Capital One.
Some of the major contributors here probably have more data on a wider array of banks.
Keep us updated on your pre-qual results! ![]()

Thanks. Do you know if you can get that Cap 1 Venture with just one or two inquiries?
Also, does anyone know a way to check Barclay Card preapproval offers?
I looked back on my reports, and mine was 1 inquiry on Equifax. I know that isn't the bureau you are looking at, but it does vary.
I'm in Michigan, if that matters. It tends to vary by state.

Venture has a reliable prequal which is a soft pull. If you go ahead and actually apply for the card it is a hard pull from all three CB's.
Thanks. Do you have the link?
