scores should jump nicely next period as i just got my 3rd bank card - got 6k BOA (not reporting yet) however aa will go down to 2-3 years then I’m guesstimating? (2 old closed store cards, 3 open cards within last 6 mo)
I am going to be spending some money - potentially up to 15-20% of my BOA card this month. I’m overreacting maybe, but I think I need another EX card w a good SL before maybe AAOA and Util changes things? Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many good ones left - PNC, Nasa, TD Visa, Amazon (not sure if they pull EX plus something being Chase). Who am I missing?
Also I’d like to think about the journey a bit. I’m open to advice on how I should be thinking about it down the line. Right now BOA is 0% for 18 months. So goal would be to get a card with low APR to use after that, maybe with low cash advance % if i need it. I don’t know what I should be looking into “holy grail” kind of cards when it applies to me. I remember thinking how cool it was I had a gold Amex at 23. Of the airport lounges I’ll go to and enjoy. I never did go to one. I never got into miles - as I don’t know the $ potential. (I also spend maybe 2-3k a month, but its rent and going out, and I’m not in US currently so a lot of those categories I’m sure don’t translate. Also I don’t buy gas.) So perks have to align with me to make sense. Appreciate the advice from those who've been there.
You're right on the AMEX, they do pull Experian. Unless you have the Platinum, the airport lounges are a no go. The BCE has a great 0% transfer for 15 months. Also the 3x credit limit increase at the 61st day is great. I went from 4k to 12k in no time. Cash back is okay, nothing special.
Best of luck!
I burned Amex, unfortunately. Shows you never know how it can go down - now that I have great ex and can't get Amex thats made for it.
I just got another bank of america $4000 so i'm at 4 cards now since december. Now to go after low APR and maybe Chase after.
