Multiple inquiries

I was approved for 3 credit cards in one day and the other 2 cards was declined because of too many inquiries. I do know that it takes approximately 6 months to gain your score back on your credit report due to hard inquiries. How long do I wait to apply again so they won't use the "multiple hard inquiries" against me? For sure I do qualify, just I was only turned down because I had too many inquiries. Or how long do they use the "multiple hard inquiries" against me?

Welcome to the board andyb2016! Were these recent applications and which cards were they? What reasons for denial did they give you?

Re: Multiple inquiries

rocbydawood, Chase Sapphire and Citi ThankYou Preferred. Yes that's a good idea. They have mailed me the reasons why because of many inquiries. Is calling them always something useful? And I don't know what to say to them or persuade lol. It's been less than 30 days since I was declined.

B335is, thanks for the welcoming. One of the card was Citi ThankYou Preferred. This is the actual reason: "too many recent credit inquiries are recorded on your credit bureau report."

Re: Multiple inquiries

I'd wait at least six months, but it also depends on how many actual inquiries you have overall.

Re: Multiple inquiries

Citi tends to be sensitive to inquiries in the last 6 months but it is also a YMMV situation

Re: Multiple inquiries

I wouldn't try calling citi bank for reconsideration. They seem very strict on application inquiries.
