There are always exceptions, but in general, 1 Cc and 1 charge per 30 days.
Sorry to disagree but that's not any rule with Amex. Too many data points here and elsewhere to indicate otherwise and I see no reference to it at other sites. In fact, what is specifically mentioned is that the 2nd application will be put on hold for a few days for fraud protection.
I'm with Irish. I've seen a PRG and TWO revolvers approved at the same time (they had to call in). The guy has a long AAoA just never had amex ever, but lots of great history etc.
But, how often to keep trying? What is the best time frame to fail, try BCP's? I would think the day after they SP pull you, super easy to see if you have an amex acct already that offers the FICO score. Mine didn't change, oct-nov-dec so im not temped to try again. Later part of the month with amex. the 18th, the provided site updates the 25th or so.

@Anonymous wrote:CSR is wrong. One charge and one credit per 30 day period. HP can be used for up to 30 days, but you can't do both cards so it would have to be a new HP. BCP will most likely be denied.
Not sure this is correct at all. Never heard of any 30 day waiting period for Amex. If you apply for two credit cards at once usually the 2nd one is put on hold for fraud prevention but you can be approved for 2 at the same time. We've had multiple people approved for two Amex credit cards at the same time. Also have never heard that HPs are good for 30 days. Usually the'll use the same one for a couple days but not 30 days.
I just looked. They cancelled the app. Was still pending this morning.
But thats what i thought i read too. 5-7 days they used the same HP...IDK lol.
Following Irish's logic here, would not hurt to give them a call. Great approvals here. They can re open the app, you need some U.S. side assistance. You have great attitude as well. If it's a no go, try agin in 6 months or so, as you planned.
. Good luck.
App timeframes are being muddled in this post.
If you apply for a second CC, there is a 5 business wait to PROCESS the app. If you apply for a third CC, or denied the second, there's a 30 day wait between apps. Generally there's a 2 card limit per 30 day although 3 is possible if one is a charge card

I apped for 2 on the 20th, skymiles and bcp, skymiles got approved, the bcp was cancelled on dec 26th. It says denied, when i look at the reason it says application cant be accessed, no second HP was done so my guess is the app was cancelled for doing 2 CC and not 1 CC and 1 charge. I havent got the denial letter yet. I can look at my other approval, denials except for the BCP. IDK. im still thrilled that i have an AMEX tho. It was my goal for this year.
