So I've been working on building my credit this past 6 months and in the process I thought hey I should help out my DH too. He is currently a full time student and full time stay at home dad with a EX score of 591. I added him onto my Cap1 Secured card and it's been reporting to both mine and his CR. So I'm doing my weekly pre-qual links and I do his as well. Well this week I got the same ol same ol but he got a pre approval for Quicksilver one and the regular plat. So my question is should we apply for it and put me as an AU? My concern is that I bring in the income and I know on the app it says that you can put in shared income. Also should I put Student where it ask and employment? Will that cause a problem? Thanks for the replies in advance!

Hi liz...just went through the EXACT same thing with my wife last night. Her scores range from 580-602. We did the Cap1 prequal link and it came back with the plat and QS1. She's had a Cap1 secured for 9 months and has been an AU on my accounts for almost a year. She's a stay at home mom and we used my income for the application. She applied for the QS1 and was instantly approved for $500. I advised her to do this to get her some more TLs reporting, as she has a thin file.
In addition, in December 2014 i was approved for both of those cards with a $500 CL. 2 months later, both cards got a $1k cli each via luv button.
Ultimately, it's you and your husband's decision to make. These were our results and of course YMMV. I'd say go for it though. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
