I'm checking CK, and see that my FAKO's raised alot. This means my FICO's did too! I have 19 days till CCT will give free 3 reports, and January for my full 3B.
ANYWAY, I prequaled on CK, went to AmEx to verify, and yup, first prequal! ED, Gold and Green. Feels GOOOOOOOOOD.
So, CK's PreQual tool is legit, and I'm not app'ing. I want the Sapphire Preferred card. 5/24 hanging over my head.

You're making a lot of wrong assumptions. Just because your Vantage score goes up or down does not mean that it will be the same with your Fico scores. The different score models take into account different factors and what may affect one does not necessarily correspond to the other. There have been many people that have seen their score on CK rise or drop a lot and seen no change whatsoever with their Fico scores.
Also their is no 'pre qualification' on CK. The site is a marketing site for credit cards and is paid to give recommendations and have members click thru to the application page. The fact you have a pre approval on the Amex page is coincidental
Dang Irish, you just peed in my Cheerios.

Im sorry ![]()
You still should be happy that any score goes up and not down and that you have the pre approval on the Amex site. It's also very possible that your Fico scores went up as well. I just wanted to make it clear that you can't know for sure without checking those scores
True True, you are a wallet goals inspiration for me, so I listen.
I did app for the ED, without prequal, when I app'd for United. Thought there might be a correlation since I hadn't a prequal in early Nov when I app'd for the ED and now, I have one for the first time. Scores did go up today, but only 2-3 pts, and EQ is taking it's time to update. *taps foot* THE SUSPENSE.
Glad these forums exist and I appreciate you.
Credit Karma says my chances for the CSP are Very good. I can guarantee I'd get denied. They say my odds for the Citi DC are very good. I can guarantee I'd get denied. They say my odds for the Venture are fair. I have a pre qual for the card every time I check Cap One's site. Credit Karma says my chances for the Quicksilver are fair. I already have the card. They say my odds for the PRG are fair. I have a pre qual for the card in my Amex account right now. And the one that really cracks me up is that my odds for the Cap One Platinum are poor. ![]()
Credit Karma is good for looking at how your individual accounts are reporting (excluding Ex). For accurate regular updates on all 3 bureaus with the actual scores most lenders will use which are Fico 8's, I would pay the $24.95 per month for the membership. Using both CK and My Fico simultaneously is your best bet.
FYI, my CK Eq score is 39 points lower than my actual score in my siggy, and 40 points lower than my actual TU. CK's scores are always waaay lower.
Thank you Swampy and Captool.
I screenshot so I have a happy record at least.
