My letter from Chase : Need to understand status

We received an application for a CHASE FREEDOM Visa Platinum credit card with your name and Social Security number on it. We need to verify the application is yours.

We are available M-F 8-8, Eastern time .

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT


Once we verify that application is yours , we will continue processing your request .

This is basically it.

I did the pre-equal ,  got the Freedom and CSP, later after doing the app, I did the pre-equal again , (didn't do a 2ND app) , got the Freedom , FU, Slate and CSP .

So, is this just them wanting to verify me ?

I'm well under 5/24, no baddies, all scores north of 742.

Looks like they want to verify its YOU and once they do, the application will continue. Guess they could still deny but hopefully they approve you

Thanks for replying .  I've been out of the credit game ...waaaayyy to long ! 

They sure do "pre-equal " me on many cards but ever getting there seems like a lifetime !  

I don't just app for anything ,  just to get "a card", been using one ,  my debit card for 10-15 yrs.

I was advised by other FICO 'ers to app for a card ( such as this) with my scores, history and clean file. 

Just glad this letter  (7-10 day) wasn't the ...."kiss of death", at least, not yet !

If they were going to deny you. They would of done that already. I also see an approval in your future.

Same message I got when I applied for the Southwest card. This was 2 weeks ish after I applied for the Freedom (which I got approved upon a follow up phone call). Called to verify for the Southwest, finished with an approval for $7400. You should be good to go!

Congratulations on getting yours ! Thanks for these encouraging words as well ! 

Since I'm "new", what does Chase ask for verification ...sure as : "Was this you, what is your address ,  SS #, dob..etc " ? 

I've just got back into credit after being out for years and have never had to call to "verify " before !
