Re: My second mail offer, it's the Cap One

I had a 700 EX, 694 TU, and 641 Eq when I was offered Cap One. My Ex was under 700 when Chase offered.

LOL. Ok i dont know what the rest of you're info. but unless you have an income of 5,000, and an aaoa of 1 day. you would probably be the first 690+ person to app for a platinum. Literally the first. Like you'd belong in Guinness. If you want the QS, go for it, you are literally a surefire shot. You may even get the Venture? Same for Chase.

credit is one of those things that i feel its better to get it done earleir if you're going to do it period. Otherwise why even bother? Waiting just isn't the smartest thing.

The rest of you're info would also be nice, if you've ever had lates, collections, AAoA, how many cards/limits. Essentially whats in my siggy.

Re: My second mail offer, it's the Cap One

I have 3 collections showing on Eq, 2 on TU and EX, all medical. I finally got the CA to agree to a pfd, so they will be coming off soon. I paid 2 already, and one drops off in March.
2 30 day lates almost 2 yrs old
10 inq Eq, 5Ex and TU
Aaoc 2.5
3 cards, 5000, 2500, 500 secured
75k/ yr

You could probably get approved right now, but if you wait until the PFD's fall off and your file is a little cleaner, you'd likely get a better SL.

Re: My second mail offer, it's the Cap One

I mean, you're income should be fine for most realistic cards( i know because its about 10 higher than mine and any card i think i can/should appl for my income would support it.

You're in a middling situation( to me anyway, i'm not a super credit expert though).

You have negatives coming off. When you say soon, how soon is soon? within 30 days? 2 months?

How soon for the lates to drop off? 3 months? a month?

Your cards have some solid limits (in comparison to mine). I have a thread going on atm about an app spree i'm planning, most of the advice given to me should also apply to you.

Some of it is just a decision on you're part, if it was me, i'd have a hard time waiting 2-3 months for the lates and such to fall off if i felt like i have a solid chance at approval now. Not sure if medicals look different than cc/loan debt, i feel like they should, but i've no clue.

I don't think you need a platinum in your wallet. Whatsoever. So lets not even talk about that card. I feel like you should be looking at Discovers/barclays/ Amex/Qs/Venture.  not some zero reward card.

If this is the case. Go with your instincts and WAIT> sure you would get approved now. But you would get better limit and better Apr if you wait until that stuff is gone. These credit cards are not going anywhere. And don't let the others with OCD push you. listen to your own instincts. Good luck.

Re: My second mail offer, it's the Cap One

The latest come off in about 6 months. The recent collections will be paid off in 2 months, and that will leave one that will reach Sol in March, but I will ask for early release in February.
I'm going to be patient and wait for better cards, especially since I already have 3 cards.
Thanks for the advice everyone, that's why I love this site.
