I applied for a checking acct with NASA and was denied due to chex systems. Surprising because there shouldn't be an issue there but i'll investigate whenever the chex systems report comes.
Anyway, could I still be approved for a cc or ploc with out a membership?
You need a membership in order for them to approve you for a CC or a PLOC
Figured as much. Thanks. Will recon whenever I find out what the hold up is with chex systems.

+1,
If you cold app for their CC and get approved, I believe you automatically become a member(with the HP of course)
If you can become a member first and app for CC then its a SP for both.( at least this was the case for me )
SP for me too. Got declined for the card though. If I reapply will it still be a SP?

IIRC, if you reapply past the 30-day period from the initial (SP) membership, it will be HP. Unless things changed recently.

Right, but if you were declined for membership, and you app for the card (which would initiate a membership) won't the result be the same? i.e. declined?
Ok thanks for the info

That's interesting..... I believe it's treated somewhat differently, meaning if you are initially declined for a membership since its a SP no harm no foul, and then you turn around and app for a CC, its a brand new ball game. If they approve you for CC, then you take the HP along with your new membership. So basically a membership and CC are 2 different and separate ball game sort of speak......IMO
