I applied for their account, they needed documentation, sent it in everytime they needed something.
After I was approved for the bank account, I applied for their Credit Card and after a few days of waiting it was DENIED.
My credit isn't perfect, I do have a cluster of recent inquiries from (mostly) successful CC apps (Kohls, Walmart, Vic Secret, Capital One etc). Those CC's have actually improved my score by 50 points at least since joining this forum!
I do have some student loans that had missed payments, I am in the middle of consolidating them.
It seems like other applicants on this board had their own credit issues were approved anyways, I'm just stumped why I was declined.
I haven't heard of any other declined NASA stories on here. Maybe one reason is the auto correct when doing a search in the forum, it kept turning "NASA" into "Name". Sigh.
My daughter was denied as well. I was told on another board that they believe the NASA ship has sailed!
I was intrigued by the SP so I tried today and also got denied. I read the same thing on a couple other message boards. Sounds like they're tightening up and for those that do get approved, they're become much more stingy about the limits.

The most recent approvals i've seen are in the low 700's, i'm inclined to believe as others have stated they have raised the requirements.

I also recently applied and was only offered a $5,000 CL. Lower than most of my other cards, so I figured they were tightening the limits given to new members.

Was your score in that 700 range as well?

Wow..... if we would turn back the calendar 30 days you'd probably would have locked down 30k to 40k instantly

Ya.... I pulled the trigger a bit late. A true YMMV situation.
They are not totally gunshy. I applied at the end of Oct and got a $30K CL. They sent me a score letter for some reason (I got the lowest APR so don't know why) showing something like 760 on their scale (in the top 30% it also said). My 08 FICOs are all 840+ though, so not a clear mapping between the scores here and what they use.
Yeah, I feel a bit better now that I only got a $2K limit. My score is also around 700.
Does anyone know if they do a SP for CLI?
