I have one account on my reports with "closed by granter", whihc was due to inactivity and 3 "closed by consumer". This was brought up by underwriters at Chase and Barclays during manual review.

Although after looking at it, it doesn't say closed by grantor. Some say it's best to say "closed by consumer". I think it's personal preference IMO.
Captool:
They did something similar to me. Approved for CC (SP). Went through the verification hoops. Sent me the card. Activated, used it once, they closed the account. The AA letter I got stated "They could not verify information", but no one could tell me what it meant. I pitched a fit and made them remove the tradeline from my credit reports. I recommend you do the same.
I had the card for literally 2 days before it was closed, and their CS is so screwy because they pass the buck around. Really unprofessional.

I'm planning to try and have it removed, but I'm waiting to see if it also shows up on TU and EQ.
I just read through this thread. Wow. Sorry you went through all that Captool, and thanks for sharing it here so the rest of us can proceed fully informed!
Un friggin' believable. Now they reported the rescinded line of credit.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! hate to beat a dead horse, but this is the exception! unreal. Now I really want very little to do with them.....they approved me then AAd me too but no HP or this.
What does that do exactly, besides look bad, does it hurt scores?

It hasn't had an immediate impact on my scores, but it has dropped my AAoA.

I would be asking for them to remove that from your CR as it is impacting your AAoA.. If they don't comply obviously you can file a dispute with the appropriate agencies to hopefully get it taken care of.. The gift that keeps giving or shall I say taking.
I just found this thread and read the entire thing. First of all, sorry @CAPTOOL. NASA's treatment of you was very unfair. I really hope you don't do business with them again. What a way to toy with your emotions... Just insane.
Wow I wish I would have read this thread before I applied for NASA. I was just approved a few weeks ago for a membership and a week later applied for a CC using the same soft pull. I was approved pending income verification (last two pay stubs) and am now awaiting my card. Albeit my visa platinum will only have a $1k limit, but if they rescinded that and canceled my card after the first charge or so I'd be furious...
