Just providing data points:
Since I had been in an application cycle (new auto loan, Ritz and SoFi approvals) I thought I would revisit NASA FCU and try for their Star Trek card.
They decided again that I am not NASA material. I certainly understand, too many inquiries, many new accounts and more than enough available credit. I still have a small direct deposit to the shares savings.
Fico08 dropped from 782 to 779 from the new Ritz reporting a $200 balance, the HP from NASA did not drop my score (20 INQ reporting)
With what NASA CU has been doing lately to some of members from MF and we love our credit for the most part I would advise most not to go with this CU currently. You probably got off lucky possibly in the long run. No interest myself doing business wtih them after their recent changes.
Run not walk away from NASA. IJS. ![]()
ETA: But hey they do give a free monthly EX Fico 2. At least I will know when to pull the trigger on a Unify cc and get best rate. So, there's that! Lol
I did apply for Unify CU for just the Checking/Savings. Will let the accounts age and get back over 800 before applying for any of their products...

I'm attempting to run a different gamble with NASA after grounding.
I'm of the mind that after their cycle of adjustments to mass accounts runs it's course that they just might get back on track again.
Then again who knows. No matter though, they have plenty of stronger and more reliable competitors from which to turn to.

NASA treats me like an alien armed with lot of inquiries and available enough credit trying to invade their credit card territory! I am flying at the speed of supersonic away from them forever!! No turning back whatsoever😁

Geebus! $5,000 spend in 3 months for 50,000 Rewards (Star Trek) points?
They ground me too ... but I found a better CU and they treated me well ![]()
