I'm an old hat with them very well experienced with NFCU BUT my last approved card that reached the trifecta was but $500 on the Go Rewards Card.
Next month CLI request comes up. My question is how do you approach a reasonable figure to ask with only the $500 limit. Im almost positive doing the normal $8K won't possibly apply to such a low SL so in your opinion how much should i indicate as a request.

Thanks @AverageJoesCredit I thought to maybe try with a $3K request but i read somewhere in the forums that with a $500 SL it's usually a $1500 that they issue. So no rush here since the other (2) Cards are nearing $25K this year

It was recently brought to my attention in the mega thread that if your SL is under $4k, the max you can get approved for as a CLI is 3x. So, in this case, it would obviously be $1.5k. But, since we're talking about Navy, I'd still ask for the max $8k CLI and let them counter.

They been outstanding beyond measure as everyone is aware. Think i'll play it conservative and tops i'll request will be $5K and let them dictate what they will offer on counter. Thanks for some insight into how to approach the 91/3 with this SL.

Dont feel bad, my 2nd card with NAVY was the platinum 1k sl. my 91/3 comes up late next month but my first statement was partial so its 100 something and 3 1/2 statements. On cli's the max is 8k, i asked for 8k last time on my CR and they gave me 6k..

Oh i don't feel bad at all even if it turned 300 in place of 500. But i was curious how far that they raise you up from such a borderline SL.
Have you decided what your own request will be when your eligibility date comes up next month?

I will roll the dice and ask for 8k. realistically i expect my limit to rise to 3k but thats ok because i have another shot at 8k 6 months after that.

Yeah i always use online for those. The recent trend i see is 500 produces 1500 and as you mention 1000 to 3000 that first go round but we'll see if that holds the same way
