NFCU Approval Platinum - Recon for SL help?

I signed my dad up for NFCU so he could take advantage of the 0% Balance Transfer promotion on the  Platinum card. He got the best APR and a limit of $8,100. His profile is 735 FICO, , 45% I think util ($18,000 in revolving, no mortgage) $65k income (retired gov worker with pension but working) Probably AAoA of 15 years....no baddies.

He was really hoping for a much higher limit to transfer his balances to and I got his hopes up based on my much weaker 25,000 Flagship approval and 9k Cash Rewards approval. Whats the success rate of new account recons for CLI? THANKS!

People have had success with recon'ing the initial credit line; most begin by subitting a request via SM and attaching two pay stubs.

Edited to add:  I just read your post again and noticed the 45% utilization... that's likely to be the factor causing the initial credit line to be more modest than he was expecting.  In the recon, I would definitely mention the intent to do a balance transfer.

Though initial sl may seem low, it's actually a fantastic sl. He has every chance to get a huge increase in 3 months. 3 months is a cake walk in the credit world. Remember 25k approvals aren't the norm even though Navy hands them out more than most. My dad got something around 7k on his first cc with Navy am hoping to get him some luv in SeptemberSmiley Happy Grats to your DadSmiley Happy
