Well, after waiting my 92 days, I was denied a CLI on my CashRewards card. I need your input people....In the past I was denied due to "account too new" but this time today was a flat out denial from the AR soft pull done on July 4th. This is bad for me because my util at the time of that AR was high on my NFCU card ($2700 out of $3000) and my FICO was 638. Since then, my util last statement was 25% and at this moment my balance on my NFCU card is zero. I run about $3500 through it each month and PIF several times. I have no derogs or lates or baddies. 5 INQ' last 1 year.
My FICO 08 right now is 711 (just checked) and my FICO 09 is 733 !!!!!! I have over $10,000 in my checking and savings.
Should I do another CLI but this time force a HP by asking for 50k? Should I call in and ask for a HP? Secure message HP request and recon? Should I app for 2nd card? Thank you
Wow I'm really sorry..![]()
I had read several posts about this happening with the 91 day mark requests so I waited til almost 6 months.
My score was 745 IIRC at the time & zero bal, total uti1%. I asked right after the AR and got the CLI I requested and a second card.
Perhaps Navy is just tightening up a bit- you can recon but it's looking like they want about 6 months for all but the strongest profiles imho.
Good Luck!!
May I ask why the rush to get a CLI right now? There will be another AR later in the month that will be posted in early September. Chances are you would have better odds of success then but you might have messed up your opportunity.
One more question. How do you know that Navy used the score from the July AR? Did they tell you that during recon?
Still haven't got word about my CLI request and its been 3 days. I'm assuming it's a denial, but figured they would tell me somehow

What about one month before you apply for a mortgage you use more cash and not run $3,500 through the card that one month? After you successfully close on your mortgage then ask for the CLI, even if it takes a HP.
