My NFCU goRewards 7th statement cut last week so I decided to go for another CLI. Originally $5,000. Increased to $20,000 after 4th statement with a SP. Accordingly, this was my 3rd statement with my existing $20K CL.
Asked for $25K on Tuesday. They ran EQ HP on Wednesday My EQ score was down 10 pts or so from 3 cards of 8 reporting small rollover balances (but still in the 715 range). Good income, no lates past 6 or 7 years. Only 1 EQ inquiry from NFCU 6-7 months ago when I joined.
No increase yet online. No emails or other communication. Does this mean NO?

that means no... I would go for a 2nd card vs a cli.
Thanks CA. Yes, I was planning on going for a second card: the Flagship. However, I thought it might be better to go for the CLI on my existing card first. Guess my logic was flawed. They probably don't like my 2007 BK and tax liens. Anyways, I am not wild about the idea of another HP, but I guess it will be worth it IF APPROVED. If not, it will suck because I already have 4 or 5 inquires this year on my TU.

If declined just use $5k from your current card to open the 2nd card.
then you can get cli back up shortly after.
Will do. I appreciate the help very much. Frankly, I am a little confused with NFCU. They have treated me GREAT with my one goRewards card. They are now my highest line at $20K and this with only 4 months of history. However, they've also now turned me down twice: once for the LOC 2 months ago and just now for a $5K increase request.

hmmm... being turned down for the loc is really surprising... might be time to try that again before the 2nd card.
Well, the only mistake I may have made regarding the LOC is that I applied via regular mail. There was an application included with my welcome package and so I just filled it out and sent it in. I believe that was on my 4th or 5th statement cycle. However, at or about the same time is when I also hit the love button for my goRewards card. As per your advice then, I asked for $25K and they came back with an approval for $20K. Now here it is 3 statements later and they don't approve me for another CLI. Maybe it's because I've only ran the card up to about $8K. Last month I let the balance report. This month I PIF. Less than $100 on it now. So the only thing I can think of is they don't like my file on manual review... but I am okay via the computer auto process.
Go figure.
LOC first... or the Flagship CC? And, same time/day?
