when asking for an increase online thru the navy federal website does it make a differencein their decision if you ask for a certain amount as oppose to maximum amount?
Always hit the max m8
No one should "always" do anything in the credit world, quite frankly.
It can go either way, OP. I've known quite a few myfico members who have had little or no success in using the max button (and a number of people for whom it always goes to review when they do), but have always been succesful myself by entering specific numbers and I know that a number of other myfico members have, too.
Your mileage may vary, and you can give either way a try. The decision will be based on your credit profile, not on which approach you choose. Good luck!
The reason u ask for max is simple, the system will counter offer you for whatever u qualify, plus you don't wanna leave money on the table would you?
THX @ CA for this great tip.
My understanding of the NFCU CLI system based on reading a ton and speaking with a rep is that when they do the AR their system determines what CLI your eliglbe for so when you hit max the amount you get will be what they approved you for already when they did the AR, if you give a smaller amount you are leaving money on the table but many don't want the max for various reasons.

The max button will only work IF***your profile fits their criteria of being approved for a CLI , like me I have tried several times several diff ways and No No No CLI , have had my cc since July 2016 and my credit reports have drastically changed since being approved (for the better , clean now , plus scores have risen between 50 and 60 pts from time of app last July ) and still nothing . I have decided to give it until a year old and try again and if no go just Close it out and move on. So no the max button doesn't ALWAYS work
