I've seen some users talk about requesting a CLI and later realizing it may have been a bank holiday, or they did it too soon, or they did it on a whim.. Either way I see a few people say they request CLIs back-to-back until it's approved or they give up.
That being said, how many times is too many times?
At this point my reported UTIL is lowering daily and my score is going up daily. I have so many accounts paid off it's wild how radical the changes are from day to day...
I really don't mind hitting the LUV button to see what happens. This is of course until I get my first HP. I've requested CLIs from NFCU twice now to no avail. Both were SP, I was told both times I was too new. I am not at exactly 91 days and I really want to pull the trigger. I know the AR is coming in May, but I'm done with apping and I really can't stand waiting until May to stop. At this point my utils and score are in check, so I don't think the every few days util decrease bring reported is going to make that much of a difference now. I just don't want to waste an INQ or start a wait period before reapplying...
I'm finally libertaing myself of sub-prime cards... I just need NFCU to increase to close the deal.

Apologies if we've had this conversation...
10 days...just hold out for 10 days...and you maximize your chances of the computer giving you a massive increase, rather than a human giving you a modest one...
just 10 days...
I agree just wait. 10 days are gonna flyyyyy past.
I feel like I'm going to explode.....

I have to keep myself busy though. Maybe I'll take a break from the forums for the next two weeks.... LOL
can someone help me understand something...first, once the ar hits, how long do you have to request to get a sp. second, i dont understand why everyone waits when if you are able to get a sp cli doesnt it just happen anyways? maybe im just confused

If I understand correctly, Navy does periodic account reviews every other month automatically. If you request a cli after 90 days AND after the automatic every other month account review, this maximizes your cli, and it also results in a soft pull.
I'm no Navy Federal expert, please correct me if I'm wrong.
every time i request its a hard pull so how soon after that ar do we have to request?

This is pretty close - The reason to wait until the AR is to give the computer which has the authority to approve a SP CLI the most recent data. Assuming you're diligently building, this should be better data than the previous AR 60 days prior. Under no circumstances will the computer do a SP when you push the button - it reviews the most recent one already performed and that's it.
There's no time limit after AR (which usually occurs at the beginning of every odd-numbered month) - there's also no guarantee it will be a SP - this method only helps your chances of one, but if the data in the AR doesn't meet the computer's criteria and you push the button, off to manual review (with a HP) you go.
To piggyback another question here, my undrstanding is that any CLI over $25,000 is going to go to manual review anyway, right? So I should never expect a SP CLI on my $24k SL and when I go for a CLI, I should just immediately ask for the full $80k with a loan officer?
