@Jnbmom wrote:5. I believe that's still the max and it will always be a hp to try because you're effectively applying for new cloc every time you try to increase it.
They have NOT been giving out the max for quite sometime now.................................. most times it
s starts very low
The current amount given is $500 upon opening, but the max it can be grown to should still be $15k. That also doesn't mean everyone will get a $500 starting limit. Someone made a thread recently where they were approved for $15k out the gate. Just like everything else credit related, it's profile dependant. Regardless, it wouldn't apply to OP as they already have a $15k cloc.
Just reread didn't know the OP already had the CLOC, but it's good for others if they are reading this to know Navy has really halted the wheels on those 15K lines they were handing out like candy in days past, yes I am well aware it's profile dependent of course, but maybe just maybe navy will loosen the reigns a little bit as was mentioned of a 15k approval recently,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"Active Military" gets mor than $500 CLOC (initial) ... My friend was just approved for $15K off the get go.
I would post a link, but he is not on myFICO.
Your friend isn't on myFICO?! How dare a fellow credit seeker not be on here! 😅

@Jnbmom, That's a Loooooooong road there
I agree and honestly believe the thread has grown beyond usefulness. Without a wiki, it's simply not worth reading 1600 pages to try to decipher a scenario that closely matches whatever you're curious about.

@brk1971, You can always ask a question?, usually gets answered pretty fast
The only thing is, stay on the topic of the thread.
I keep reading "CLOC" I'm entirely new to NFCU but what is a CLOC? I just got approved for a cash rewards card with a SL of $1,000 currently maxing that card out and PIF every month, what is a CLOC and can I get one this early? (Just under a month as a member)

Checking line of credit "CLOC"
You can apply for it anytime. Most people have reported getting $500 unless your active military.
From what I've read Navy use to hand out large amounts of CLOC but the past year they've reined that in.
yea, i think like 90% of the people who applied and were approved for a CLOC about two years ago got 15k. i think i got mine with scores in the 620s range. i've actually used it a few times and it's awesome. just write yourself a check from the CLOC account and deposit it to your checking.

Are you active military ? I'm not.. if I apply and get $500 can you request an increase? I would love a $15k line for investment purposes!!
nope, no military for me. my dad was a viet nam vet though.
a 500$ CLOC doesnt seem to me to have any value except with the hope that it'll flip to 15k eventually.

You don't have to read 1600 pages, this thread is very active and referenced daily. You can usually find or post in that thread and receive answers rather quickly. The thread is very useful
